Religious Education Calender - 2009-2010

Grade 2 Parent Meeting for First Eucharist preparation is Sunday, March 14th at 9:00am in the Parish Hall. At least ONE PARENT is required to be in attendance. Upon arrival please sign in and submit a wallet size photo of your child if you have NOT already done so! Please be reminded to BRING YOUR CHILD WITH YOU! They will be practicing their songs and prayers in preparation for their rapidly approaching First Communion Day!!

Confirmation Retreat for grade 10 Candidates is Saturday, March 13th from 1-5pm. The retreat will conclude with the students attending the 4:00 Mass. All Confirmation Candidates MUST attend this retreat or they must go on retreat with a neighboring parish.

Grade 9 parents: On Wednesday evening March 10th the 9th grade Pre-Confirmation students are to be in church for Reconciliation at 6:30pm. This will take place of their Monday night CCD class (March 8th) so attendance will be taken. Once confessions are heard and penance is said your son/daughter is free to leave, so please wait for them outside. If you feel you would like to go to confession as well, you are prayerfully invited to do so.

Grade 10 Parents: On Wednesday evening, March 17th the 10th Grade Confirmation Candidates are to be in church at 6:30pm. Again, this will take the place of their Monday evening (March 15th) CCD class and attendance will be taken. Please be advised: Once confessions are heard and penance is said, students will go directly downstairs to the Parish Hall, where they will be fitted for their Confirmation robes. There is ONE FITTING ONLY so please be sure your son/daughter is in attendance. Students are then free to leave so please wait for them outside. If you feel you would also like to go to confession, you are prayerfully invited to do so.

Grade 7 & 8 Parents reminder: Classes for “Keeping Children Safe Program” will take place on Monday evening, March 15th and March 29th. Those students NOT participating in the program will remain in class with a teacher. Please pick your child up at the usual time of 7:30pm.

Grade 10 and Grade 2: On Sunday, March 21st grade 10 students and grade 2 children will come together for a celebration of the Liturgy followed by an “Activity Day” in the Parish Hall. Grade 10 Candidates will help the 2nd graders to prepare for their First Communion as they do several activities at different tables with the children. This special time together should last approximately 1 ½ hours. The day should conclude at 12:30pm.

We thank the tenth grade Confirmation Class for their witness to Jesus Christ and His Church as they share their faith with our 47 second graders!

Grade 2 Parents: Due to the number of First Communicants there will be one celebration only at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 1st.

CONFIRMATION SCHEDULE

OUR LIFE WITH CHRIST

The CCD teachers volunteer their time to teach your children about the Catholic Faith. Although they do a wonderful job, one hour a week is not enough.

Please come to Mass with your children and celebrate the Eucharist. It is the main part of our faith!!

When your children go to CCD, they start their journey to Reconciliation, the Holy Eucharist and then Confirmation, but their LIFE IN CHRIST does not end with Confirmation.

In order to fulfill our teaching bring them to the Mass and join in the celebration!
