THE FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION
Father Tom has given his permission and blessing on the start of a new First Saturday Devotion. Just like the First Friday Devotion, it will depend on committed adorers to keep the hours filled. We will need a minimum of 14 adorers to fill the hours between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. only on the first Saturday of each month. While the First Friday Devotion depends more heavily on our retired people, a First Saturday Devotion provides an opportunity for more working people to participate. If we can arrive at 2 committed adorers per hour from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., then the First Saturday Devotion could begin in the Holy Family Chapel on the Feast of the Guardian Angels, October 2, 2010. We ask the whole parish community to pray that many people generously respond to Our Lady’s Devotion. This devotion – as do all prayers- benefits each adorer individually, our St. Martha parish community, and the whole world.
Don’t be concerned if you know that you cannot make the commitment 100% of the time. We all occasionally have circumstances that are unavoidable. In such a situation, we would look for someone to cover your time. And you will also receive a reminder call several days in advance of the First Saturday to remind you of your commitment. If you are able to commit to one hour a month to simply sit in Jesus’ company, then please call Charlene Harrison @ (508) 695-2792 to let me know which hour is best for you. I can promise you that you will receive more than you give! I ask if you could please respond in the next couple of weeks so I can post in the bulletin the hours still in need of being filled. Also, if you have never participated in Eucharistic Adoration, but would like more information, then please call with any questions you may have.

Please join us Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 9:00 A.M. We also welcome you to join in praying the Rosary at 8:40 A.M.
NOTE On days when a funeral is scheduled there will be NO Mass and Rosary

Saint Martha Parish is planning an outing to the PAWSOX GAME on Sunday, August 1, 2010. The game is at 1PM and a bus will leave the church parking lot at 11:30AM and return after the game.
